Elevator Talks to Corridor Conversations

The corridors of my childhood home in Noida, Delhi taught me the importance of community.

When your neighbour’s door used to stay open all day for you to randomly enter any time and meet your friend without reason.

When you are standing in the balcony and asking (or shouting at) your friend if they are coming for the evening game?

When Ritu aunty comes for curd jamun (starter culture - to create more curd) and talks to mom for an hour at the kitchen door.

I do miss all this.

It was easy to take it all for

It was easy to take it all for granted. Especially when you move to a city like Mumbai where life is so fast that no one has the time for a 10 minute corridor conversation and don’t have to ask for milk.

Working on Neighbourly’s brand has given me the pleasure (challenging) to create an opportunity for people to connect in new and different ways.

Some connections to fill the void you don’t even realise exists. To create memories that are forever to cherish. Some stories to belong to with people you care for.

I hope you enjoy the project as much as I enjoyed creating it.
